Still Life Hållander 1979
9 000 SEK
A naive still life entitled 'Ägg på Olje Kanna' or 'Egg on a Oil Can' by the Swedish artist Gunnar Hållander (1915 - 1980). A endearing painting exploring the everyday forms of daily life, reminiscent of the naivety that Scottish artist William Scott portrayed in his work.
The son of a fishmonger and a self taught artist from the beginning, Hållander received a scholarship from Örnsköldsvik's art association in 1950 that led to him travelling and later studying in Paris, Madrid and Lisbon. He mainly worked with still life's, portraits and landcsapes. His work is represented at the National Museet and Moderna Museet in Stockholm.
