Stockholm based artist and designer Rasmus Wingårdh has a design philosophy that is deeply rooted in minimalism. Sometimes its about reduction allowing the beauty of simplicity to shine yet other times it is about adding substance to the ‘too’ simple. The process of finding this balance is a recurrent theme throughout Rasmus’ work.

Educated in fine arts Rasmus has worked as a fashion designer for over 25 years for Filippa K, CDLP, Uniforms of the Dedicated, Lisa Yang amongst others. A multifaceted designer with a career not limited to designing clothes but also furniture, lifestyle accessories and objects. His Art-Projects No.01 - 04 have been exhibited at Dusty Deco, Jus, Gothenburg Auktionsverk and Story Hotel.

Simplicité Compliquée was founded in 2005 as a forum for his creations and from a need to simply create without purpose “As a designer there is always a purpose for me, less so with art and I wanted to see how that lack of purpose could free up my creativity. My passion has always been to capture an imagined balance I see, a harmony in a cluttered world. Simplicity or minimalism tends to be more complex than often believed and as such Simplicité Compliquée is a fitting name for this pursuit of simple beauty that I would like to be enjoyed by many”
