There is a magical poetry to this composition. Broad brush strokes build the shadow work and the limited colour palette creates an optical deceit on the canvas. Worked in monochromatic tones of sky blue, concrete grey and chalk white acrylic.

Paola Camponella (born 1930) lives and works in Genoa, Italy.
Originally working in design and advertising, Camponelli has dedicated herself to painting since 1975. She is fascinated by the work of Magritte and photo realism.

Her metaphysical view of everyday domestic scenes, a running theme in her work.
