An exquisite and unusually large deco table mirror attributed to the master of French Modernist design, Jacques Adnet (1900-1984).  Geometrically simple and functional in design this table mirror gives a luxurious touch to any coffee table or sideboard.

Jacques Adnet was an icon of French Art Deco Modernism, Inspired by pre-classicism  but always with a modernist twist. He graduated from The Municipal School of Design in Auxerre and the Ecole des Arts Decoratifs and founded the company JJ Adnet together with his brother Jean Adnet and became recognised as one of France's most promising French designers.  He went on to direct La Compagnie des Arts Francais from 1928-1960 working with a team of interior designers that included Francois Jourdain, Charlotte Perriand and Georges Jouve. During the 1950s, Adnet concentrated on creating furniture and working on commissions such as the private apartments of the President at the Elysée Palace and the meeting rooms of the UNESCO headquarters in Paris.

His innovative designs in metal, glass and leather were recognised for their modernism and he was hugely influential in expressing new interior trends of his time.
