Decanter Set Simon Gate

An elegant decanter set from circa 1920s designed by the eponymous Simon Gate (1883-1945).  11 pieces including one decanter, four short glasses and 6 tumblers.  The perfect after dinner drink service.

Gate was renowned for his experimental glass work at Orrefors where he worked together with Knut Berqvist and Edward Hald from 1917.  Together they broke Orrefors to the international world and established the companies reputation for Swedish Grace glass at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1925. 

Simon Gate is represented at the National Museum in Stockholm, the Örebro County Museum and the Kalmar Art Museum amongst others.
