Swedish Stock Benches

There's a simple and rustic construction to these 19th c. benches.

The legs knocked into a half log, often called a 'stock' in Swedish. Traditionally used for the internal walls of old Swedish country houses.

Both benches have a great patina and wear commensurate with age.

The legs are stable but slightly uneven.

Perfect length for the end of a bed.
